about

A set of arrangements of traditional Ainu tonkori music, orchestrated in the tradition of Bartok for Nykalimba Tonkori Ambira and Hohner Guitaret. Some lovely and personal songs, mostly to do with falling in love, though one is about having a row, and one is about children at play:

This is part of an ongoing series of experiments in melodic affordance. They are in no way a window into the Ainu musical forms or culture, but are rather a set of arrangements created as part of a series of investigations into melodic affordance.

This material should be see in its original form to appreciate it fully, and I would encourage the listener to find source material on the Tonkori and existing recordings.

about

Ivodne Galatea Nedlands, Australia

Principally playing original compositions of an ambient nature on the Hohner Guitaret as well as other thumb pianos/finger harps/lamellophones.
Interested in orchestration using field recordings, per the great John Cage's suggestions (1937).
The pieces are all pataphysical book reviews. They consist of musical essays on books of the same title that haven't been written, but should have.
