Landscape into Art

from Lines of Flight by Ivodne Galatea

about

Continuous composition - this is en experiment in non-stacked/non-regenerative looping. Using two digital delays, and looping the lot via the boomerang. It was intended to be a Henry Kaiser style performance, but I liked the sounds of an interim setup so much I used them. ("I intended an ode, and it turned to a sonnet...")

Elegaic self-reference to my threnody for Meg, The Lady Tasting Tea, which began my entire samizdat music-making.

Hohner Guitaret live looping using a Strymon Timeline (effect sent out through Zoom BT Multistomp in distort), an Akai Headrush and a Boomerang III.

All looping sent out through a Logidy EPSi with the IR of a stone flagged courtyard with a pond and a chinese warrior statue, made on a cherry blossom filled spring afternoon.

Collage of field recordings played as a sequence on a Roland SP404SX.

about

Ivodne Galatea Nedlands, Australia

Principally playing original compositions of an ambient nature on the Hohner Guitaret as well as other thumb pianos/finger harps/lamellophones.
Interested in orchestration using field recordings, per the great John Cage's suggestions (1937).
The pieces are all pataphysical book reviews. They consist of musical essays on books of the same title that haven't been written, but should have.
