about

Another cheap imitation, this time of Warlock, going to the same source (Arbeau's L'Orchésagraphie) and with a more conventional harmony. The pieces are
1. Basse-dance appellée Jouyssance vous donneray
2. Pavane à quattre parties - Belle, qui tiens ma vie captive
3. Tordion
4. Bransles
5. Pieds-dans-l'air
6. Mattachins (sword dance).

The tablature is included in the download

A nice symmetry here: the source - “L'Orchésographie et traicté en forme de dialogue par lequel toutes personnes peuvent facilement apprendre & practiquer l'honneste exercice des dances” - was written in 1589 by Thoinot Arbeau (a pseudonym of Jehan Tabourot). These dances were made famous in some quarters by Peter Warlock (a pseudonym of Philip Heseltine). Now rearranged as a cheap imitation by the pseudonymous moi.

Interested in orchestration using field recordings, per the great John Cage's suggestions (1937).
The pieces are all pataphysical book reviews. They consist of musical essays on books of the same title that haven't been written, but should have.
