about

This is a medley of several short pieces by the English Cittern and Lute compose Anthony Holborne: Night Watch, Galliard, Muy Linda, Fairy Round, As it Fell on a Holy Eve.
I first heard Holborne on Jan Akkerman's mesmerising Tabernakel, and the first tab I ever read (being inspired to my my Political Philosophy lecturer, who showed all his students lute tablature - I think) was the Kanazawa Harvard edition collected Cittern music of Holborne, which I borrowed on rotation from the music library for several years, writing it out by hand to learn it. I made a cittern by retiring a mandolin someone lent me. I would strongly recommend everyone else in the world try that, the music falls so naturally under the fingers it surprises you. The Galliard performance here is strongly influenced by Akkerman's in terms of phrasing

Ivodne Galatea Nedlands, Australia

Principally playing original compositions of an ambient nature on the Hohner Guitaret as well as other thumb pianos/finger harps/lamellophones.
Interested in orchestration using field recordings, per the great John Cage's suggestions (1937).
The pieces are all pataphysical book reviews. They consist of musical essays on books of the same title that haven't been written, but should have.
